The Craniosacral System provides a protective cushion for the brain and spinal cord. It has its own rhythm that pumps fluids through the system. These fluids disperse nutrients and collect waste. Having optimal flow of this system regulates the central nervous system and allows our body to heal its self. Craniosacral therapy (CST) uses light touch to address imbalances in this system to restore it's natural rhythm.

Fascia
The fascia is one continuous web from the top of our head to the tip of our toes. It's connective tissue that serves as an information highway between and woven into every organ, bone, nerve fiber; down to every cell in our body. Physical and emotional trauma can create tension in our fascia. When the fascia is tight, it will create imbalances in our body=symptoms. Fascia can withstand 2k lbs of force. Myofascial Release (MFR) is slow and gentle modality that lets the body know they are safe and it's okay to let go of the trauma its holding on to.

Dr. Gillespie (founder of CFT) is a periodontist that connected the importance of working with both of these systems; especially at the time of birth& how they connected to oral development. When I was looking for answers in my journey with Mercy- I could not separate the difference between these two systems. I didn't know which modality she needed. I found that the answer is that she needed both.
